  1. Hi Kavit,

Thanks for your video. Better Marketing is definitley what I need both as an artiste and as a singing teacher.
I’d really appreciate it if you ever get chance to check out my myspace site. I’ve just recently set it up. Had some new photos taken to replace what’s there next week.

I’ll take your advice about getting an independent site set up. Might try moonfruit.com, heard they’re good for hosting.

    Look forward to your report.

    Best wishes,

    Johnnie.

  2. Hi Kavit, GREAT presentation, thanks for it! One thing though–I noticed your act is very well suited to weddings, corporate events, Indian cultural events, etc. I’m a dance-pop artist who wants to perform at dance clubs. Do you think it would work for me to target my website headline to club bookers? I don’t know if dance club booking works that way…Also I’m worried that since my act is not really right for common events such as weddings, corporate functions, etc, I wouldn’t get enough requests to make a livable income off performances. Either way though, I’ll give it a shot and see what happens, but was just interested to hear your thoughts on that.

  3. Hi Kavit….
Once again, I’m inspired and motivated by the things you have to tell us.
You asked for what our greatest problems are - mine, I can tell you, is that I haven’t been able to make that break from teaching. I have taught (piano) for many years and have developed into a good teacher. BUT the time doing that has taken away from developing my own music. You touched on that in one sentence in your video when you mentioned that you don’t have time to teach, so turn down requests in that area. I have had some luck with licensing through PumpAudio - also receive royalties from BMI because of that - but it’s not enough to drop students. I do love playing concerts and gigs with groups, but mainly I love to write music and want to be able to continue doing that with more time to devote to it. Plan to do more recording…I have already done 7 cd’s and have another recorded but not edited yet, etc. It’s writing and recording that I really want to do more of.
Well….don’t know if this is of help, but I just want to say that your being there with what you have to say is a tremendous inspiration to me. Thank you for doing what you do!

  5. This is a must see video for any and all musicians OMG!!!

I have to agree with the last portion don’t just think about it go out and do it. The world is about testing what works for you and moving forward. I would say about 80% of musicians have great ideas on getting thier music out there gaining new fans and selling more music. But they get stuck on the practicing and making of more music. Or even just sitting on the couch watching the latest TV shows.

So I would suggest signing up for the 18th and DO SOMETHIGN!.
