Win One Of 3 Full Scholarships To Musicians Mastermind 2.0!
UPDATE: CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. No Comments Allowed Anymore.
—
What’s going on?
I’m running a special contest to give you the chance to win one of three full scholarship to the upcoming Musicians Mastermind 2.0 training program launching next week.
What is Musicians Mastermind 2.0?
In brief, MM2.0 is an intense and interactive results-orientated six-week training program that will teach you to get more exposure for your songs and music online, in print and on air so you can ultimately make more money doing what you love. It is delivered by weekly PDF lessons, video training and LIVE coaching webinars.
By the end of the training, you will have a full-fledged internet presence and a system for consistently growing your fan base, increasing your reach and making more money as an artist.
How Do I Enter?
To enter, simply leave a comment at the end of this post telling me why you deserve to have a spot in this program. I will then read all the comments and announce THREE LUCKY WINNERS on Monday, June 1st.
Hints: Tell me (1) who you are and what you’re doing in the music business, (2) what you’re going to do with the training you receive and (3) why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program.
Good luck!
Hi Kavit!
I think I deserve a scholarship for your 2.0 Musicians Mastermind for the following reasons:
1.) I bake great oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies. If you choose me I will share my secret recipe with you! If you don’t like this kind of cookie, I will create one you DO like!
2.) I am already a hard working indie musician who is fascinated with using 2.0/3.0 social media/web to develop my fanbase. I think this program could take me to the next level and I would be very grateful.
3.) If chosen, I will do a write up about my experience in your Mastermind program for my artist resource site http://www.musicbusiness101.info. I think having a real-life, truly in the trenches working artist writing about your program would be neat-o!
4.) I’ve secretly wanted to join your mastermind, but wasn’t sure if there were any ‘new tricks’ you could teach me. Now you can teach me!
5.) Did I mention access to my secret recipe for cookies? I mean, I’d bake some and mail them to you, but I fear they would end up crushed and who knows if British customs would allow secret recipe cookies through?
Well, those are my reasons! I hope that you had a lovely weekend and look forward to your new Mastermind program!
Peace and cookies,
Natalie

1) I am a songwriter and performing songwriter working everyday to; #1 write #2 rewrite. Then I practice. After that it’s slicing time to work the different ways of marketing my songs and creating my niche’.
2) With the training I will continue to pursue my goals to achieve a 6 figure income (US$) within the next three years. All this through multiple income streams that include performance, publishing, and sales (music, merch, etc.). There are a lot more people out there who could be in my audience, and I need a fresh marketing and business perspective to reach them.
3) I deserve the full scholarhip for a couple of reasons. First, I have invested a lot of my resources in myself in the last 15 years, and it would be nice to have some financial relief. Second, it will be my responsibility to succeed and make sure credit goes where credit is due. Your scholarship to me will be my success story back to you.

I feel deserving of something definitive for heaven’s sake, I have been encouraged along the way yet time after time see others jump ahead and then I feel awful for not doing what I know is in me to do.
It’s good to win something cos then you get confidence to win and win. And that’s a win/win situation, which I like.

I would like to make a difference with my music…put smiles on peoples faces, get them feeling good and grooving to the music. I am working 7 days/week to make ends meet and haven’t been able to devote as much time to making music as I need to and want to. Maybe this could help me make that next step to making more time for creating and selling music!

I am a 22 years old graduate in Multimedia and I am from India. I have been trying to learn music composing and production for last 3 years, using web resources. I’m really so much passionate about music. I live in India and there’s really no much good environment for music over here. And there’s huge lack of music education institutes also. I wanted to join a music school in other countries but things didn’t work as I had expected due to the financial problems. So I am back to my native work.. graphics/web designing/ video production etc; since I have to look forward to make money for life also. But everyday I get inspired and that pushes me to work on music.
This program might make some difference in my life and help to be back to music with full devotion.
Music is my life and I want to make all type of music. And I hope one day I will be a professional music producer/composer

I don’t feel like I deserve anything. I have been lucky enough to play music for over 30 years, even though I have never broken through or had a “hit” record. I am just happy to be a musician and would appreciate a little more insight so I can continue this crazy pursuit for the duration. Music is pure. The pursuit, kinda ugly. If you feel you can help me, you know what to do

I believe that I can hold notes pretty well and drum a bit but my main passion is writing, started as a hobby to heal boredom but I have grown over the years. At this stage I am just writing, tons of materials, whatever comes in my head. I have developed some to certain standards, blogged some, lost a few, performed, but not recorded any so far. I believe that all words have either life or death in them, I have come to realise that there might be some life in my written words that will sustain me and a few other privileged people, I might just be needing a jumpstart to sustain the cycle. I deserve the scholarship because like everyone who is entering for this contest, I have taken the initiative and I know that in the near future, I might not be able or willing to afford this course otherwise.

im 18 years old, guitarist flutist and vocalist.im in a band(as a guitarist)which has already released one album and is currently recording its second..the expectations are high, while all of the members DO believe in their compositions.but just having good songs isnt enough.i know that 80% of success is on marketing,so this scholarship would be very importand to me.deserve this scholarship?im really not sure about that because if the answer is positive by my side then it would seem quite egoistic..so,its not up to me to judge wether i deserve it or not..

I have to be completely honest about something Kavit. If you are looking to give these 3 opportunities to musicians and/or singer song writers then I don’t deserve the scholarship.
You see although I have an undying passion for music I don’t write or play any instruments myself. I am personally seeking this scholarship to make a dream of mine come true and that dream is to make a lot of other peoples dreams come true…
I would absolutely love to focus a good portion of my time and energy on the business side of music so the artists can do what they do best…
and that is create. write. play. sing. be ARTISTS.
I’ve always had a natural inclination to look out for musicians and I would love to further my music industry business savvy so I can do more of what the musicians DON’T want to do so they can do more of what they DO want to do.
I really appreciate your consideration and also really appreciate your desire to help others.
Thanks again and Good Luck to everyone.

Hi Kavit,
I’m a musician currently playing in two projects in which I wholeheartedly believe. In both situations the primary songwriters are talented people who truly deserve to have their music heard, but lack the necessary knowledge to gain the all-important exposure required to take their (and my) careers to a level at which a decent living can be made. I’ve been working on my own for both of these artists to try and increase their internet presence and promote their music, and I’m finding more questions than answers at every turn.
If you were to grant me one of the scholarships, I would double my efforts, confident in the knowledge that the information contained within your course would be accurate, valuable, and would set us on the path to success. There would be no more second guessing on the part of either myself or the artists I work with. The information would be coming from a credible source, and my ability to implement your ideas and strategies would be strengthened, and consequently supported by the musicians I work with. Using your materials, I would do my best to ensure our success in all of our musical endeavors.
I believe that I am worthy of the scholarship because music is something that is of utmost importance in my life and the lives of the musicians I work with. I’ve been struggling to make a living doing what I love - this is not a hobby or a pastime for me - this is my life. I will continue to make music my number one priority regardless of whether I am granted a scholarship, but your insight and information would be an enormous asset to us, and would allow us to realize our dreams sooner, equipped with the tools to take our careers even further than we imagined.
Thank you for your consideration,
Jeremy

Greg’s an Australian/Irish jazz pianist known for his fantastic compositions. He’s gigging locally and getting great responses from audiences; now we’re working together to get Greg to the next level - recording and touring to festivals in Europe. But how to do it properly? How to do it smartly? How to avoid mistakes? That’s where Musicians Mastermind can help us to work smartly and help us put an effective plan of action in place. Greg’s music simply deserves to be heard and he’s got the determination, the talent and the drive to succeed. I’ve got all the computer, design and writing skills. We’d love to do the program as a team and would commit 100% to working at getting Greg’s music to the next level.

(1) who you are and what you’re doing in the music business,
Hi i’m matthew otherwise known as art damage (celebrating 25 years). i compose my own music and sell it on CD baby as well as through other sites. i also do soundtrack work and jingles.
(2) what you’re going to do with the training you receive
well i hope to put my efforts in to areas that will “pay off” instead of treading water all the time… i have a considerably large web presence but very few sales to show for it.
(3) why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program.
being disabled and on welfare means that my resources are very limited and there is no way i could afford this program on my own. i need good information and strategy! i would love to learn from you!
thanks for the consideration and this opportunity,

(1) who you are and what you’re doing in the music business
I’m a professional musician and something of an odd ball in this kind of programme. I’ve always pursued my own musicial goals which mainly involve fusing music from different genres (rock, folk, world), occasionally combined with spoken word. Over the last few years I’ve been concentrating of the function scene which appeared to be the only way to earn a decent wage, but the banking meltdown seems to scared a lot of people and this month was the first in about five years when I had no gigs whatsoever.
(2) what you’re going to do with the training you receive
I obviously need to diversify. Amoungst other things, I want to bring my original music off the back burner so I can have more than one string to my bow. My involvement in the Musicians’ Union and visits to conferernces like Womex and London Calling have shown me that the whole music buisness is in turmoil as it tries to readjust to life in the 21st Century, so I need a chart to help me through these stormy waters.
However, I’m running the Red Queen’s Race (from Alice in Wonderland - running as fast as you can to stay in the same place). I need the information but can’t afford the time to go out there and find it myself, this is one of the dilemmas of being self-employed.
(3) why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program.
Unlike a lot of the aspiring musicians that your course is aimed at, I don’t have a ‘day job’ to fall back on, i.e. no financial backup to allow me to invest in the future. I’m not sure I ‘deserve’ a place, but I have tried to help a lot of other musicians through my involvement in the MU (I’m a MU Learning Advisor) and in other ways. All given freely and without getting anything in return, perhaps I’m due for some kind of reward for my previous good works.
On a more pragmantic level, I also write for music magazines and local papers, so perhaps if I learn from this course I can help get the word out.

Hi Kavit,
I have really enjoyed your useful emails and I enjoyed talking to you about the industry last time we met at the Internet Millionaires Bootcamp last month.
I believe that I deserve to be awarded a full scholarship because I will work hard implementing every thing you teach while incorporating some of my own experiences until I achieve the success I deserve from the music Industry.
I have already worked hard to record a number of Mercury Music Nominee artists and have been awarded prizes for my production skills at University and Local Media awards.
I have produced songs that get regular airtime on BBC Radio 1, and I have recently formed a band that are getting excellent reviews.
I will make it in the industry no matter what. I am young and ambitious, but I feel your program can really take me to that level in a very short space of time If you would like to see how well your program works in the hands of someone so hard working and creative who’l be more than happy to leave a personal testimonial, pick me.
Look forward to hearing the results

Dear Kavit, I’m a 72-year-old dreamer I’ve spent my life teaching from grades 7 through 12 and as an adjunct instructor and later as a professor in colleges and universities in America, Germany and Thailand. Musically, I started classical piano lessons at age 9. At 17 I was offered a job as substitute piano player for the stage band at the Louisiana Hayride Radio show in Shreveport Louisiana, which launched Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, and many others on their way to the Grand Ol’ Opry Radio Show in Nashville. I declined the offer, and became a member of a religious teaching order in 1954. After my studies, I taught in Catholic schools 7 years and at a Catholic College for a year. I became a civil rights activist in 1968, marching to Washington, D.C. after Martin Luther King’s assassination. I taught in ghetto schools in New York and New Orleans. In everything I did, I continued to write and perform music, playing piano, organ, harmonica and guitar. I sang and composed chorales for various not-for-profit causes, including the New Organization for Women (NOW), NYU, and Assumption University of Thailand (see http://www.au.edu)
Currently I’m using a university network system to link with over 150,000 students and graduates as I lay a foundation for my upcoming project, a membership site similar to your own, inspired by Yaro Starak.
Because of my concern for future generations of humans, I want to create a worldwide music network that will move public opinion everywhere toward a spirit of fairness, love and responsibility so that we end up leaving a decent legacy to the children of the future. Check out my songwriting and singing at http://YouTube.com/user/DrHanzonScience and on Blogger as songwriter-songwriter.blogspot.com.. Kavit, please help me follow in your footsteps, helping people make music. In my case, I’m following many of your steps and re-reading your book about planning a musical career, etc. as I follow Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind’s course in building a membership website. I cannot afford to purchase your service, and I never beg. I’ve just laid out the facts for you to think about. I hope you can help me with a free scholarship.
Best regards,

Hey Kavit,
I think I deserve a scholarship to your wonderful program and here’s why
1) I am a 51 year old musician who wants to make a difference and share some of the life lessons and wisdom that I have learned over the years.
2) I have spent many years working on developing my writing and performing skills and now realize that I need to spend equal amounts or more time on the promotional aspects if I want to accomplish my goals.
3)I would like to make a difference with my music…put smiles on peoples faces. My agenda is to make people feel good and to motivate them to be their best and follow their dreams.
Helping others to develop their technical skills in music is one of my missions and by promoting myself and developing income I would be able to devote more time to this instead of spending so much time chasing the dollars.
I have been working on developing promotional skills it is a vast puzzle to me . I need help!

Hi, I’m a full time musician/songwriter and have had some success early on touring the world with Sister Sledge. I have won song contests and have had a few song placements recently in film and TV. I write every day but am at a complete loss when it comes to promotion.
If I was to receive the training I would use it to promote my new CD and the library of songs I have written over the past 30 years!
I feel I deserve this because I have been so close to success many times. I work hard. There is something missing from my approach to this business and I need to find out what it is. My story would be a good example for others in the same situation. Thanks.

Hey Kavit
Without music life would be a mistake. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
With that in mind let me take you into the journey of the 30+ years I have spent with my one true and faithful friend, someone that has stood by me through thick and thin and that is MY MUSIC.
(1) who you are and what you’re doing in the music business
A boy, 4 years of age should never be trusted with a music instrument said my neighbor to my father on listening to my first take of the ABC song ( at a school recital) on my grandfathers harmonica. The next thing I remember was being booed off stage. It took me weeks to get over that ordeal but my dad encouraged me and I kept going.
To silence my neighbor and my entire neighborhood the very next month I was sent off to Violin Class and became the youngest person in my community to master the violin. Playing the violin gave me great pleasure but I wanted to explore all the different realms of music. And thus set on my journey to find my self. On my way I learned to play the guitar, the piano, the harmonica (blues style), and also learned proper voice and breath control techniques.
Let’s fast forward 12 years
My first gig at a local rock concert, with lads nearly double my age. It was the late 80’s back then I was still in high school and ours was the opening song. I had prepared for this moment all my life and then i sang.
After that I was a local hero, the newspapers even had an article on me. I was in my prime and everything was going my way and then ……
I was in college.
This was where I was asked me to start taking my life seriously, give up music for a serious stereotype 9-5 job. However me being rebellious, instead of joining the corporate conundrum decided to start my own Computer Business.
Music was now a sideline something that I did in the weekends or late at night. But it was still my first love.
Five years down the line my computer business fails but my reputation as a music teacher has grown that schools and colleges from all around the state began to enquire about my services thus began my career in teaching music professionally. I also began to compose my own songs and many of them have been sung and played by choirs all around Mumbai.
But now I want to bring the spot light back on me. I know I’m good, and that I’ve got the raw talent and I know that with a little prodding and direction I will take music to new heights. I also want to learn the ropes of the music industry, which is what the Musicians Mastermind 2.0 is all about.
(2) what you’re going to do with the training you receive
I want to compose songs and live my dream life doing the one thing that makes me happy and I would like to share this joy to my fellow brethren.
(3) why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program
When the world says I can’t do something I generally step up and prove them wrong. I have faced the world too many times, sometimes I have won and sometimes lost. But only in times of darkness does one see the light. I have seen the light but my path towards it is still a long way ahead. And that’s’ where this course come in. I’m sure it will propel me closer towards my goal.
With that I would like to close my written application and pray that the best Man or Woman wins.
Best Regards
Kevin D’souza

1. Who you are and what you’re doing in the music business?
I am possibly the most famous anonymous singer in America and I’ve writing my brains out but because of my age and because the standard business model of getting a record deal with a major label has been blown out of the water I’m getting lost in all the noise that’s being created by easy access to recording and putting out shitty cd’s!
(2) what you’re going to do with the training you receive
I’m gonna use Musicians Mastermind 2.0 to help me make you famous by me becoming a major success story! And I promise to give you all the credit for my success when it happens.
3.Why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program.
I deserve a full scholarship because I truly have to goods. If Musicians Mastermind 2.0 is as good as you say then we will both will be proven right.

Hi Kavit…
I am a studio singer from Los Angeles. Also I am a published songwriter. I have worked with names you would know…No ego here, just an artist with “real” desire.
With your organized training program I plan to further educate myself and advance my songwriting efforts. You are a welcomed addition to the business of music…Your sincerity shows in your emails…thanks….
I have truly been exposed to the business in L.A. and that exposure has not always been positive. So when I say you are a welcomed addition, I mean it….Due to my experience with various artists I will be glad to assist you in any way I can…
Thank you again, and keep fighting the good fight….

Dear Kavit,
1.) I am a writer and singer for Ramona The Band. Since starting RTB a little over a year ago, I have also started my own music publishing company so that I can (hopefully) keep the money that my music makes, and maintain ownership of it.
2.) I have already gained a lot of insight from your “bite-sized” bits of training that I have received in your emails. From those alone, I feel that I have begun to build up a durable network of fans via social networking sites, my blog, youtube, and thanks to your advice, a comprehensive fan mailing list. So I do feel that thus far, I have been utilizing the information that you have given me pretty effectively. However, I also feel that there is a whole lot that I don’t know, and am not taking advantage of with what I have going on now. If I were able to be a part of MM 2.0, I think that I would be able to “tighten up the bolts” and grow what I already have to it’s full potential.
3.) I think that I deserve the scholarship to MM2.0 because I work very hard, and care very deeply about being an artist. I am quite young, only 21, but I have given up just about every vacation or school break since I was 11 years old in order to further train myself and work on my craftsmanship as an artist. So driven could indeed be a word used to describe me. Furthermore, I have begun to learn leaps and bounds about the music industry since starting my publishing company, but I still feel that I am in the dark as to how I can take all of these useful things that I have been learning; and tie them together. After all, it seems to me that a lot of this is networking, so I think that your training would help me to weave a stronger net.
But finally, and to be quite blunt, I am a starving artist. I am fully committed to this, but even with my day job, I only barely make the bills. So anything beyond the literal rent, utilities, and hopefully food, is sadly out of my reach at this time. Which is why I really want to take your course. I feel that I do have the music, and the work ethic to make some money with it. But right now, all I need is that chance to learn how, so that I can start climbing my way to the top of this tunnel of poverty and share my work with others.
Thank you for this opportunity. I work hard at this every day, and all of the information that you have shared with me thus far has been very beneficial to that work.
-Ramona

Hi Kavit,
I have been a musician for a very long time now, I love music and I really would like to get my own songs to see the light of the day! I think it would be a shame to waste anybody’s creativity.
I have songs of my own, but I don’t know yet how to acomplish my goal to take them out to the world, I need someone’s help…and if you’re offering that help, I think I deserve the chance to have all the help I can use.
Thanks

Hi Kavit,
I am not going to blag you with things I am not doing right now but rather with what I have achieved so far. I have my inde-label in place, I am a recognised label with little or no money and so far I have joined the relevent music bodies mcps/prs alliance etc and have 5 artists under management, all with websites etc. So far I am updating 20 websites for promo purposes for artists and marketing daily. Besides all this, I play in two of the bands and run with a 33.5 hour job. I was on the road for 5 years and preferred this life to any other, the job has to go….My internet and marketing skills are very good, but need developing further, which I am prepared to do if I win this scholarship. I am TOTALLY passionate about music, playing full time, running my label and supporting my artists. I feel I would be able to get one of our bands or artists a major deal with your help. I have found your past advice invaluable and am already proving this with increased interest in my artists sites. Now to go further and complete all our lifestyles with your help….

Hey Kavit!
I deserve this scholarship because first you are my hero, second I have followed you for a very long time and promote you though my live shows of original music you helped me create, third I forward all my guitar students to you for songwriting training and lastly I make money from playing music now and I’m only making paltry earnings so far; but it’s getting better thanks to you! I am implementing everything you taught me so far at http://chuckwest.org/ and thanks again.

Hi Kavit!
Music is what keeps me going alive mentally and through the rest of everyday. Though I’m only 16 year old girl in high school, I don’t give
a dawn what my parents are killing me over and I’m going ahead proudly with my college of my choice with the best music program I can find. And why shouldn’t I be happy, it kept my mentally-disable twin sister happy, happy about life. Nothing will really be sweeter than to make music for people to smile and enjoy day in and day out. But its’ hard with the economy that’s not giving much attention to the young ones like college loans and jobs. Cliche as it sounds we are the future. If I get the scholarship , i promise you the personal music business I will make will make you proud. There’s talent all around me, I must bring it in for all the world to see.
Thank you offering such an amazing opportunity!

My name is Jere Faison. I am a composer, producer, musician and I perform under the name, Sol. I just moved to Pacifica, Ca and I am in the process of getting a repertoire and band together to play out. I have been really good at the creative side of my music and resistant to marketing and promoting myself. I have trouble wearing both hats and could really use the guidance and direction to successfully make a living at music. I think I deserve a full scholarship because the music is all there and, if your method works for me, I will be a valuable investment towards the promotion of your work.

Kavit, hello there!
My name is Andrew Hand and I am a singer/songwriter in NYC with a mission to spread positive music to listeners.
I currently am writing and recording material and have been producing my project “Songs For Oprah” for the last 6 months. Songs For Oprah began as a weekly song and music video project to write and produce a new song every week for 1 year, focussing on positive lyrics and a relevance to humanity. I hope to take it to a wide audience (my goal is Oprah) and begin to raise money for charity through the profits of these works. I would really like to get other artists involved and giving back through music to those in need and rewarding the fans of the music.
With this training you are offering I feel that I would be able to get myself over the hurdle from creative product (currently without marketing and publicity) to a product that is exposing itself to those who can spread the word and help make my dream a reality. I know that with your guidance I can implement these critical steps that are often so hard to get done myself and leave me feeling up against a wall.
I feel that I deserve this scholarship based solely on my drive and passion to make a difference in this world. I know that I only have this one life to accomplish what I’m here to do and that reaching people with the message that we can make changes, and that we can empower ourselves to reach heights of humanity, compassion, peace and love that have hereunto been dreams is possible. Music is such a miraculous tool for change and reaching peoples hearts. I would be deeply honored and thankful to be awarded one of your scholarships and have your help in making this dream a reality.
Best wishes to you and thank you for all you do Kavit.

Name: Andrew Mary Hicks, I am a: Singer, Songwriter, Arranger, Composer, Performer. Rockstar in training.
I will succeed. Failure is NOT an option. When I “make-it”, you can say: “My marketing plan (which I generously gave him) helped him achieve much of his success!”
I deserve to win because: In the last century, last millennium, my ancestors heard that your ancestors did NOT want to be forced to learn German! They did everything they could do, to prevent that from happening! They succeeded tremendously! That’s why I should win.
Thank’s for the invite!
Have a good day, Andrew

Hi Kavit
I am Kwa, former band leader for the YOUNG ELDERZ, an acoustic reggae group out of NYC (www.myspace.com/kwazmuzik; http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/youngelderz). We released a disc called CHILDREN OF RASTAFARI in 2005. Things didnt work out because we did not have the business insight needed to get anywhere. Well…that and the fact that we did not work as a group to furthering our music.
I did my best to push the music using online resourses, scanning a few titles in Barnes and Nobles, but everything was so fragmented or watered down. I think at times its done intentionally to get discourage people so the industry isnt flooded. In any event, I am not giving up.
The band is done, but I still stand- broke. I am working on my own music right now. Purchased the songwriting ebook to up my level of songwriting. Just this morning I was considering Brett Mannings Singing Success program, but not sure if I can afford it. I am trying to work on my all around game, as you can tell.
However it would be for nought if I have done all this work to put out a good product, but my lack of knowledge business-wise causes no one to hear my work. All the advice I have consumed from your writings have worked thus far, so I KNOW this will work for me as well.
I would be be a great testament to the value and validity of the MM2.0 training program. Being a broke musician, my story can show how music failure becomes music success via this program.

Hello Mr. Havia,
First, let me thank you for the content in your ebooks and videos. I have enjoyed the experience and information you have already afforded me and I appreciate you for doing so.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tim and I am a musician, teacher, and NLP practitioner in the Philadelphia region. In short I study the communications, behaviors and mindset of excellence.
In the music business, I perform in blues, rock and jazz bands in the tri-state area and I teach business concepts and communications to all of my music students.
With your training I will be able to make a bigger difference sharing your concepts with people who will really appreciate and benefit from these ideas.
I believe that this training scholarship would be of mutual benefit for many people because I do much of my work for the purpose of proactively supporting present and future musicians careers.
You see, all paths start somewhere. And we all have to choose that path at some point. Some start early and some start later. I am 33 and I have been a musician for 29 years. I am just starting out on this journey as a communicator and business man.
I am helping people, which I love, while building a bigger network (which we all need). I believe that this network will be my income stream in the near future and right now I am investing much time and money into developing my product and honing my skills.
I believe that you, my students, fellow musicians and I will all win if you tell me a resounding “yes”
Best wishes and warm regards,
Tim Shay

Hi Kavit,
This is truly a very generous and valuable offer which you have made…Good Karma to you.
I am A Guitarist/Multi-instrumentalist/Songwriter, who has moved to the U.S.A., from Australia to further pursue my career in music.
I have written a multitude of songs with most recieving favourable responses from various people in the public domain and industry sector.
Being new to this country has provided a huge challenge in getting to know the “right” people in order to promote my songwriting and further my career, and make a decent living from what i have always loved doing.
I feel that for me to cut thru the crowd, i need the best of tools to organize and package my product in a professional and efficient manner. MM2.0 would best equip me with the tools and know-how required to market my product and brand effectively.
Kavit, if i am fortunate enough to be one of the three winners in your offer, it goes without saying that many thanks and appreciation would follow thru the marketing strategies that MM2.0 would create for me, so as more people can be aware of this powerful tool.
Once again, thank you for creating scholarships to your course and may you recieve many fruits for your labor.
Humbly yours,

(1)Who you are and what you’re doing in the music business.
I’m Khem Na’khi, a music artist who has taken a step back to learn and share with others in the music industry the infinite amount of resources and opportunities available to help increase our presence on the web, build better relationships with fans, experiment with different models to add more value to our music experience and capitalize.
I’m currently spearheading two projects, The iRule Music Experience(www.irulemusic.weebly.com) and The iRule Atlanta Experience(www.iruleatlanta.weebly.com) to share information and help build a new music community. Within those experiences I have blogs, podcasts, music mixes to showcase positive, inspiring and progressive music and I have meetups that includes a live radio show and workshops to bring the music community together offline to create awareness and share in the wealth of information.
(2)What you’re going to do with the training you receive.
As I stated above, I’m a music artist first. As I discover new resources and opportunities, I share them with anyone who wants to listen (hence the reason for my two projects). With your training, I want to gain more insight that is not available online to become more effective as an artist and in turn share with my audience what I’ve learned. Receiving this information and applying will help in creaing the new music community I envision for my projects, where everyone is working together whether you’re a music fan, artist or label.
(3)Why do YOU feel you deserve a full scholarship to the program.
After all these years of sacrificing and putting my project on the back burner to work a 9-5 job, I’ve come to a point where I’m ready to take the next step in bringing my projects into fruition and get my career off the ground. Since I moved back to Atlanta from New York in Nov. 08′, I’ve had numerous revelations which have given me the motivation and drive to take my projects and my career to the next level. The mere fact of coming across your newsletters, eBooks and having the opportunity to apply for this scholarship is a revelation within itself. We’re both social “musopreneurs” and I feel that this opportunity will not only help me, but those that follow me now and in the future.
Thanks again for the opportunity Kavit.

I write christian songs because its my nature of comfort in terms of song writing. And to be given this scholarship will help me further music to the next level. with your tarining profession, i want to see what song writing music is actually all about and its true meaning when you inspire encouters and particularly to gain more knowlegde as an artist in this common area of music. once again thank you.

Who I am and what I’m doing in the music business:
My name is Mary Beth Jourdain. I am a singer/songwriter/rhythm guitar player. I come from a very musical family starting with my grandpa on my moms side who use to play the fiddle in a band with my grandma’s brother. My dad plays lead guitar and my brothers play drums, lead guitar, harmonica, mandolin, and so on, my niece plays lead guitar, my nephew plays bass guitar, my daughter sings, writes songs and plays guitar and my 3 sons are rap singers/songwriters . (Sorry if I left anyone out). I will be recording my first CD in the studio this summer along with my daughter, who co-wrote one of the songs. I also would like my brothers and my dad to play lead guitar on my CD. My style of music is a mixture of country, blues, rock, and pop music. My daughter and I also each wrote enough Christmas songs for a CD, which include a version of Silent Night in Ojibwe. My daughter and I also plan on making a studio CD of all of our co-written songs, which are pop-rock sort of Stevie Nicks style songs, in which my daughter wrote the lyrics and I wrote the melodies. I don’t play in a band anymore, but my daughter and I sing and play guitar at the local coffee shop during open mic night.
What I will do with the training I receive: I will use the information to help promote my CD and get my music heard by music producers and fans alike.
Why I deserve a full scholarship to the program: Because I have been told that my music and songwriting is good and needs to be heard.

Through my concerts and teaching workshops, I am dedicated to keeping the music of my hometown, New Orleans and the Creole people alive. I received a small performance grant to fulfill this goal and I know that the MM2.0 will give me the tools that I need to reach audiences all over the world.
I not only perform and record for adults, but children too, and the money that I will earn opens up the opportunity for time to research, develop and present this music and rich history.

Dear Kavit,
Besides a small-time job in rural India, Goa to be more specific, I have been involved with church music for almost 20 years now. Liturgical music has been my passion and I have been training small choirs in and around the place I live. I would love to encourage many of the small kids and the youth from the poorer sections of society, to get involved in such activities. However, due to lack of financial aid, I am not able to give my best to get this dream going.
It is by sheer accident that I’ve come across this great opportunity to obtain this scholarship and if I win, not only will I benefit from it but also all those less fortunate in society, who are talented but are not able to pursue their dreams because of financial constraints.

Hi Kavit,
I am a jazz guitarist/composer living in a small town in Canada (21/2 hours from Spokane, Washington. Living in the boonies it’s hard to get noticed. Often I’ll get a gig in Spokane to play with a major jazz artist. They always look at me and say, “what are you doing out here you play great, you have to move to New York”. I’ve played with, Robben Ford, Dave Wekel, Mike Stern, John Handy, Bob Mintzer, and many others. Well, what I’m doing here is raising 6 children in a beautiful and wholesome lifestyle. Now they are older and I want to move on in my carrer. I went to NY and recorded a CD with Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheny, and Mike Richmond (Miles at Montreaux). I should have the final CD next week. I want help with getting this CD heard, bought, and played. Because of my circumstances and having just made the CD, I’m fairly broke. I would like a scholarship to your program so I can now move forward. I believe I am going to be successful and noticed, so, I think I’ll be a good promotewr for your services if we can get me more noticed. Thank you for considering me.
Sincerely, Paul

Hi Kavit,
I thank you for taking the time to put all of these materials together for us up and coming musicians. You have provided me with a wealth of information just from the free videos. So why should be awarded 1 of these scholarships:
1) My name is Marcus Manderson and I am a musician (pianist). I have been playing for almost 20 years. I studied piano at James Madison University and went on to study Audio Production at the Omega Studios’ School of Recording Arts and Sciences. After receiving my Audio Production Techniques Certification and ProTools Certification, I was hired as an Audiovisual Advisor Technician for the National Geographic Society. I have been at the Society for almost 2 years. In addition, I have been a keyboardist/pianist/organist at my church for over 10 years.
2) With this training, I want to be able to learn how to market my talents. I am working on my first solo project, a jazz album, and I feel that this course will greatly help in marketing that. I am also trying to break into the studio musician market. I would like to offer organ/piano/keyboard services for local studios. I am also working on some local artists albums as an engineer and producer. My ultimate goal is to get into music production and I know your material will help me greatly in finding my market for all of these endeavors!!!
3) I deserve a full scholarship to the program because I want to be able to do what I love, making music, and not have to worry about going to work every day. I love my job, but my goal is to be able to stay home with my family (wife and 2 kids) and provide for them with my music. I’m not saying I’m the best musician or producer in the world. But I am proud of the music that I create and I know that there is talent out there that will want to collaborate with me. I don’t need to make a million dollars a year. That would be nice, but I need to make enough to be able to pay bills, get my family into a house, and maybe take a vacation every once in a while if I want to. This program will be a major step towards that goal.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and best of luck in all your efforts!!!!
Marcus Manderson

Dear Kavit,
You have a tough job here. I vote for Shishir KS.
As for me, I am just like all the musicians above.
Writing, Performing, Dreaming.
Through all my successes and failures one thing has always been missing — Professional Guidance.
I pay close attention to how others have succeeded and try to gleen what I observe, but just having the tools and not knowing exactly how best to use them only brings moderate results.
Deserve it or not is subjective. I Believe I will be a good example of what can be accomplished with the knowledge your scholarship will reveal, an example you can use to illustrate the value of your course. I believe.
Good Luck With your hard decision,
Jeff

Yeah go on..you’ve twisted my arm man, put me in as well. If nothing at least I now have some extra marketing blurb that I can cut and paste and use somewhere else.
Music is a business, it is about creating, packaging, marketing and selling your art. There’s no point beating about the bush saying how amazing your art is if you are not thinking business. The business savvy person making “average art” will always suceed more than the amazing artist with “average business sense”. Two paths to being a musoprenuer: 1) An entreprenuer who would normally make money doing whatever he puts his mind to anyway choses just to focus on his true love… music. 2) Musician becomes an entreprenuer.
“The power of a mastermind is infinitely more than the power of the individual heads put together” (Napolean Hill quote-ish) and I am pretty sure I can contribute to it very well.
That…and I can also fry an egg

Hello Kavit,
thanks for your generous offer. Here is my application:
1) Who you are and what you’re doing in the music business?
I live in Prague, Czech Republic and I am not a singer, not a songwriter, but a banjo player – that makes me quite unique among the fellow applicants, doesn’t it? But I am not just another banjo player who creates the sound everybody expects. I am sure you know there are different kind of banjos and different techniques and different sounds obtained (e.g. 5-string banjos are played by fingers or fingerpicks and the sound is called old-time music or bluegrass; tenor banjos are played by flatpick and the sound is dixieland or Irish traditional music). So - I am the first tenor banjo player who systematically plays its (retuned) tenor banjo with the “5-string banjo picking technique” – I am using fingerpicks and I play frailing, bluegrass or Travis picking. This “innovative” playing style is my PRODUCT. Look at my page http://www.mirekpatek.com
2) What you’re going to do with the training you receive?
Your training would help [me] to open new horizons for the instrument which did not reveal it’s full potential yet. Imagine that everyone in the world plays guitar only with fingerpicks – and then someone comes and presents that it is possible to play guitar also by flatpick, borrowed from the mandolin. This already happened in the past for guitar – but not yet in the world of tenor banjo (which is played only by flatpick and not by fingerpicks)! Do you see the big potential of “changing the world” (of the instrument) here? Of course I have to continue to master my tenor banjo technically and musically, but the marketing and selling skills will be the key success factors for my task – to promote new playing style.
3) Why you, why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program?
Because (in case my task is successful) I have the potential to influence more people. My influence wouldn’t end at my listeners. My task is to influence MUSICIANS, which would then influence their listeners, and other musicians, etc. Shortly, the potential of my product (innovative technique on tenor banjo) is to create NEW MARKET SEGMENT. Example from the Irish traditional music: now the tenor banjo belongs to the standard and accepted instrument here, with all its prominent tenor banjo players, recordings, educational business etc. But all this goes down to limited amount of significant people (e.g. Barney McKenna from Dubliners). Another example from (now huge) 5-string banjo world: the man who popularised new style is Earl Scruggs – he successfully promoted new playing style, even if he was not the first one who played this way. I am realistic – I will not be the „Scruggs“ or „McKenna“ of new style. But my task is to help them to appear and raise. Isn’t this somehow similar to your role in the music world, Kavit?

Happy birthday!!!
I believe in the healing power of music. Sound is the subtlest expression and can penetrate and transform all that it touches. The planet and humanity need to be lead along a new inclusive path. Musicians have the potential of playing a key role in building a new world.
I have a project studio and contact with many like minded artists. I have produced one cd and am getting ready to produce more.
With your help I would be able to reach more people and hopefully touch their lives in a positive way.
Thanks, Keep up the good work.

Kavit,
I’m not sure I would use the word “deserve “. I’ve been fairly inactive the last few years in pursuing the marketing of my songs, but I write songs on a regular basis. And like many people, over time, I’ve acquired a fairly good knack at it. With the economy as it is, I’ve lost fulltime employment and long to alter my career track to include a tangible way to market my music on line, which has been an interest for some time. That’s about all I would say. Do I “deserve it”? No. Would I pursue it otherwise? Couldn’t afford to at this time. Would I use the knowledge to help fulfill a dream? Absolutely.
Thanks,
David

Dear Kavit,
My name is Lance. I have been pursuing my music for over 30 years. I have played in several bands and recorded a few albums in the 80’s under an independent label. Currently I am a solo artist with several new songs to promote. I am in the music business because at the age of 7, I was injected with a dose of the Beatles and my only cure is to write and perform music.
If I win the scholarship, I plan to use it to structure my plan of exposing my music to the world.
I feel that I deserve the scholarship as I will utilize the program to its fullest and prove your techniques.
Please excuse my brief sales pitch but I am not much for writing essays right now. I am anxious to get back to writing.
Good luck with your program Kavit. I always enjoy your e-mails.
Thanks for the chance,

Hello Kavit!
I have enjoyed your regular emails coming in my inbox, and love your idea of this contest!
At the moment I am doing some exams… apart from sleeping, eating and revising I always try to write new material or jam on my guitar with friends.
I have written a number of songs, but find it so frustrating when people just push me to one side… I want to prove to them I am better than that and share my passion for music with the world (cheesy I know, but it’s true).
I don’t have a huge amount of money, and have scraped bits up to buy a pod studio ux1. I hope to record some of my songs on this.
With the training, I would try and get my music career started by gaining expose on the internet. I really want to show people that I am not just another kid belting out three chord songs on my guitar… I want to show everyone that this person knows how to play, and loves doing so!
I don’t this for money, I do this to share my music around the world. If I could have a career in music, my dreams would all become true!
With the 10 week holiday I have after my exams, I feel that I would benefit the most from the scholarship. In these struggling times, people need music to soothe their minds… I want to give joy to people and have whilst doing so!
Thanks a lot
Ankush (i’m 16 btw)

Hello Kavit,
I’m 18 years old, I am currently studying at Abbey College Cambridge. Though I haven’t done much in the music industry, I have always kept the dream of being a successful artist. Practice singing 2-3 hrs/day is a part of my life, I can also play the guitar. With the hope to really become somebody in the music industry, I am eager to learn everything I can about music.
I intend to use the knowledge I gained to support my music career in the future. Despite having the dream, I am not clear about how to achieve it, I realize that marketing music is also essential for an artist to keep his/her music alive. I hope I can find a clearer answer to the future of my music after this course.
About the reason why I deserve this, I can only say I will study with all I have. I want my music to be widely known and I really need to know more about the music industry to do that. I am not being supported by my parents for my dream of being a singer, so the scholarship will just mean the world to me.
Thank you for your consideration,
Phuong

(1) Who you are and what are you doing in the music business?
I’ve been in the music business since I was 16 years old (read: longer than most people want to imagine) and have wanted to be a musician since I was 2 1/2 years old when I announced that I was going to grow up to be a piano player on a stage and people would give me all the money to play piano on a stage.
I have had a very fulfilling career as a road warrior and as a studio musician. I have had to reinvent myself a number of times over the years due to circumstances.
Currently, I am a singer-songwriter and composer raising a child with Autism as well as a rare, complex, neuromuscular autoimmune disorder (details: it affects approximately 100,000 people worldwide, is 5 times more rare in children and has no cure). Understandably, this impairs my ability to be a road warrior and so I focus on those parts of my career that I can continue to grow well.
(2) What are you going to do with the training you receive?
What I plan to do with the training is to internalize it, process it, incorporate it into my life and then work it to the best of my abilities. Training won’t work unless you devote yourself to making that training work therefore what I plan to do with the training is to make it work for me.
(3) Why do YOU deserve a full scholarship to the program?
Deserve is an interesting word, isn’t it? It means “to have a right to because of acts or qualities; be worthy of; to merit.”
Now, most people fail to understand that with rights come responsibilities. They oftentimes talk about what their rights are while shirking their responsibilities.
In life, I have repeatedly and continuously shouldered my responsibilities in order to lay claim to my rights. Therefore, everything that I create in my life, I deserve because everything serves a purpose and everything brings a lesson with it that is my responsibility to learn.
Do I deserve a full scholarship to Kavit’s program? Only Kavit can answer that question.
What I do know is that I merit the opportunity of having a full scholarship to Kavit’s program because I have consistently demonstrated ability and achievement in the field of music over a number of years.
Even when my life has had what others believe to be insurmountable challenges due to my child’s severe health issues, I have continued to move forward with my music and my career.
As a single parent with no outside financial supports, I invest in my son’s needs first and my career next. Everything else falls far behind those two driving forces in my life.
Devotion, desire, dedication, talent and more are the assets I bring to this program. So I believe that, should I receive a full scholarship to Kavit’s program, I will demonstrate that I deserve the full scholarship based first on merit and second on shouldering the responsibility of making the most of the program.

I would appreciate a scholarship as that would help me focus on my music more.
I believe I have a special gift and have received several requests to record my songs.
Your guidance would help me to take my music to the next level.
Being part of a group mastermind would definitely accelerate growth for all of us.
Without the scholarship I would not be able to attend the course.
To know that I have won a scholarship would turn my life around.
Thank you for this opportunity.
Best Wishes

Dear Kavit
I am an independent American born Australian based singer-songwriter with a focus on bringing healing and inspiration to others. Although my first album has been brewing on the back burner for over 12 years (while I embarked on the journey of motherhood) I’m now taking the first steps to complete the project and share it with the world. So far the response to my unique voice has been extremely encouraging. I now need & want a teacher/mentor to show me the way forward. I believe I have found this in YOU Kavit and will keep a diary of this adventure/course on my blog. This will in turn create even more awareness of what a wonderful thing you are doing for people with limited resources. In Harmony & Hope ~

My self-confidence formula
1) THe object of my definite purpose in life is this: I desire from the deepest of my mind, heart soul and my body also, to spend my life as a successful musician in an indie rock band (i am solo now), and be able to earn a decent, comfortable living from my musical efforts and endeavours …
I know that i have the ability to achieve this object of my definite purpose in life, because, i know from myself and a growing number of other people, that i am well underway on my road to success ..
Therefore, i demad of myself persistent, continuous action toward its attanment, and as such i promise here and now to render such action ..
2) I realise that the dominating thoughts in my mind will eventually reproduce themselves into physical reality .. (i know this to be true because i already have reached many goals with success and that from soeone who has seen the bottom of the dirt in this world … )
Therefore, i will have to and will concetrate my thoughts on a daily basis, upon the task of thinking of the person i want and intend to become, and thus create in my mind, soul, body and heart, a clear mental picture of that person ..
This is how i’ve done things since the times i can barely remember by a concept called imitation which leads to identification ..
3) By the principle of auto-suggestion, i realise that any desire i hold persistently in my mind, will eventually seek expression through myself, through some means of attaining the object back to it, and so i must devote some daily time to demanding of myself the development of self-confidence ..i know there’s always room for endless improvement, but i know the road to success, which i’ve already went has been very long and difficult, but at least i now realise that i already travelled a large portion of it, only to realise that the end is nowhere in sight ..
but at least i know that from the many feedback i am getting lately, including from big name music industry professionals, that i’n on the right track ..
4) i have alreadu written down a description of my definite purpose in life, only to find this isn’t an easy assignment …i find it even difficult to dream about or to imagine success ..apart from very simple descriptive vague wishes …but i will never stop trying, until i have developed sufficient self-confidence for it’s attainment ..
Taking the initiative of becoming a volunteer as a dancer in a contemporary dance project, was and will remain a huge springboard that will open up new avanues and new contacts, in the artistic world, a huge sprigboard to success also and to finally have the self-confidence i so badly desired for years that will enable me to attain my definitechief aim in life STEP BY STEP …
As such, i’ve learned already a great deal about bringing order in the chaos of the music business world, thanks to resourecs that Kavit made available …i found them priceless and they worked well in conjunction with other resources i actually purchased from another source ..
i feel now confident we ( the cultural center’s team where i do my volunteering ) will find the necessary musicians to start booking a full band TOUR in 2010
in fact, by giving and receiving favours in return i am now currently recording my entire repertoire with a very skilled sound engineer/producer/ awarded film maker who was actually enthoused when i asked him to continue working with me after his contract in the center is finished …that means more and better recordings, a proper demo to send to club and venue operators, and even shoot some music videos .. and more good news … the cultural center will probably start a new sponsored project devoted to my band only (which i am sure i can get together, with a little help from my newfound friends at the center), so that i can finally and seriously get out of the starting blocks ..
5) the fifth element in my self confidence formula is all about ethics … i will and have promised to myself to never engage in transactions which do not benefit all parties involved, and i demand no less from other parties i would consider to work with …
I realise that my future wealth can only long endure, unless it’s built upon truth and justice ..
i know i will only succeed by attracting the forces i wish to use, and also i will attract the cooperation of other people .. as has happened upon my volunteering ..
I will induce others to serve me …because of my willingness to serve others ..
In my basecamp there won’t be any room for for hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism, because i have and am still developing every day my love for all humanity ..
I know that a negative attitude towards won’t pay off, because it simply does not bring about success …
I will have others believe in me, because i will bellieve in them, as well as in myself..
I know i must regularly take this formula and repeat it outloud, preferably on a daily basis ( i must admit i find even this small effort to be rather difficult ..) with full faith so that it will influence my thoughts and thus my actions and that in this way I will become a self-reliant, and successful musician in the full band that i so dearly want …until now it has been more about just daydreaming about that i suppose ..
so dear Kavit, in conlusion, if there’s anything you can help me with, it is precisely this transition from just dreaming about my goals (although that i am better off now that i am a volunteer - i started in 2008 - than ever before when the sky wasn’t the limit, but the limit was formed by my immediate surroundings and always right around the corner, or so it seemed), ..well, this transition from dreams and wishes, unclear and unstructured in my mind …that’s where i would see you come in and help me some, if you’d be willing …turn them into a deep-rooted reality!
That’s where i am a bit stuck and so i would love to be able to accept your help to get my music business finally on the road and up and running! ..
Many, many thanks for reading my long plead, in part inspired by Napoleon Hill !
your friend

Hello, I’m 14 years old, indeed still very young and sing (less than a year), play the guitar (10 months) and piano (9 years). I live in the Netherlands and I come from a family where music never played a role (I’m adopted). It really came from myself that I started to become interested in music and then in becoming a musician, so maybe it was something from my family in China. I’m a singer/songwriter, who hasn’t really reached something yet. With that I mean that I haven’t done singing contests, don’t have an own working site because I don’t know how to build one that is effectivley for my music and don’t have own songs (they’re all unfinshed and haven’t got a melody, only lyrics or it’s the other way around). BUT, I’m really working on making it in the music business, I still practice everyday and hope someday I can make a living as a musician. I don’t have to be famous, I just want to be a musician and earn my money with it. Maybe you can teach me all those things with your lessons, I’d really appreciate it. I hope I’ll be taken seriously, because even though I’m still 14, I do realise how hard it is to make in in the music business and that you have to be talented but mostly have persistence and so you shouldn’t give up. Practice is also the key to succes but with your program I can learn also to interact with my fans and build a community around it. I really want to get out of the ‘no succes yet’ stage and get further on the road of music. I know I haven’t got much experience, because I can’t do it alone. I sometimes feel like I don’t have the guts to sing infront of people on stage or let people hear my music (I never have let them heard my OWN music with singing). It’s a kind of fear. You might think: ‘What has this to do with my program?’. Well everything, it will give me self-confidence that people around the world can say they like my music. My parents don’t always believe in me if it comes to the music business. They think I’m not really the kind of person for it, but I really would do everything so I can prove they are wrong and it’s no revenge, but just that I can be proud of myself because I CAN do it. Anyway, I thank you for your time if you read it and am thankful to have had this oppertunity.

Hi Kavit,
First of all, I won’t say I’ know you or have followed. I just found out about you. 15 minutes ago I think.
1. Who am I and what am I doing in the music business?
I am Peter, go by the artist name Ngqibs. I am a singer songwriter and I have been writing songs for a while. I am constantly challenging myself with music. I wanted to release an album this, and I have. I clearly didn’t know what I was doing when it came to marketing the album, so I have what I believe is good music, but terrible marketing. I have tried my best to build a web presence but nothing can’t be improved. I am currently working on an EP which I want to release before the end of this year, but this time, I don’t want to make the same mistakes I did with the previous album.
2. What Am I Going to Do With the Training I Receive?
Put it to use! It will be a challenge for me. One I will nail. I want to get gigs, I haven’t performed yet, I want to get my name out there.
3. Why Do I Deserve this?
Having packed my bags and moved from my home country to another (from South Africa to the USA) in pursuit of a bigger goal, I think I have proved that I am willing to do whatever it takes to make a success of myself. I am not naive about how much work goes into this. I realise the amount of work and dedication it requires for me to get to where I am going; to realise my biggest dream. Normally, I prefer to learn things the hard way because I value it more, but as one of the lines in one of my songs says: “Just call on a friend and ask for help, because we’ll all need a helping hand” and I know I could use one.

Greetings Kavit,
I am Trip Jeezy, leader of gONNA gET gOT, Brooklyn’s premier hip-hop punk-pop outfit!
In previous incarnations I’ve been signed to EMI Publishing Worldwide, Polydor and Chrysalis UK as well as several indie labels. In the last year GGG has played Warped Tour, Bamboozle, toured the mid-west and had our recent CD, My Microphone (the top-seller on CDBaby.com for the first 3 weeks of its release) featured on the in-store play-list of Hot Topic stores around the country, as well as on sale in regional stores.
We’ve also had our music featured on multiple episodes of MTV’s Pimp My Ride.
We’re currently working on our new record while fortifying our web presence, using landing pages and implementing a merch store to start bringing in money more consistently while gaining new fans daily. A new website is also in the works. We also have a Bills4Skills program where fans can commission their own track about anything they’d like.
I would use the Mastermind course to further develop the ideas I’m working on and bring focus to my whole plan for GGG’s musical world domination!
I believe we deserve a scholarship to the program because gONNA gET gOT has worked very, very hard for many years and shown that we are willing to continue to work hard (VERY important point since no class or program is worth a damn without hard work to back it up) and we also bring something to the table musically that NO other act can. Our music is completely unique and original yet also commercial with the ability to find mass-appeal.
Thanks for your consideration, Kavit.
The whole band are avid readers of your work and we appreciate it in any case.

Hi Kavit, my name is JC Cassis and I’m a dance-pop singer, songwriter, producer and performer in New York City. I built my home studio from scratch and learned to use it on my own, and I make all of my own recordings, music videos and websites myself. I also put together a live band and book my own shows frequently in NYC. I have been dedicated to growing my online presence, using myspace, twitter, facebook, and my own website, and because of your advice I have become much more focused on growing my mailing list and getting my fans contact information.
With the training I receive I will achieve my immediate goal of making a living solely off my music. I look forward to learning how to get more frequent, paying gigs to increase my exposure and income from my music, as well as my fanbase. My current plan is to play in gay clubs and straight dance clubs frequently in NYC and follow the path of Lady Gaga and Madonna from the NYC clubs to the top of the charts. I would love to be a revolutionary and do this without a record label to help solidify the belief that you can be a hugely successful musician without a label, not just a sustainable one.
I deserve access to this training because I am already working incredibly hard on my music career every day, but I want to be more effective at monetizing it, and I need training and your viewpoint to do better at that.
Thanks and have a great day! Late happy birthday!

Hi Kavit,
i’m an independent saxoponist, singer, writer, producer and performer currently working and recording in and around Toronto,Canada.I am getting a fair amount of air-play.
I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and have recieved some success, the hard way. I am always learning but never coming to an accurate understanding of how to promote my music on-line.
I belive you can help me and give me the wisdom I need to succeed.
I’m all dressed up….
I just need to know where to go.
I feel this wisdom really is all I need.
Seriously,I need this scolarship.
It is a matter of finance.
I will find the money for this program sooner or later.
Sooner would be better, I was recently diagnosed
with a rare degenerative muscle disease,IBM (Inclusion Body Myositus)which effects the limbs and grip I’ve had to modify my horn and i’m still playing well.
But now I’m really in a hurry.
There’s no time to lose this course will be of great value to me.
So thank you for tis opportunity.
Sincerely,
Demo Cates

(1) who am I and what am I doing in the music business?
I am assistant to my mother who is a musician (piano and voice - both performer and professor) - I play the piano and played the violin when I was young. I’ve been helping her, with the unending and loving support of my husband, to prepare for publication, a 7-volume piano instruction series that teaches a student to read and play music at the piano. These books take a student from beginner’s level through to advanced concert level, are suitable for all ages and all educational venues (one-on-one, classroom/group, self-teaching). I’m passionate about promoting these books because music instruction is so necessary in our lives.
(2) what I am going to do with the training I receive?
I will use every bit of training I can to further my work on and promote these piano instruction books so that people everywhere may have a chance to learn music at the piano (and therefore to play other instruments) and have the opportunity to live with music for the rest of their lives.
(3) why ME, why do I deserve a full scholarship to the program?
I’m supporting my mother in this life-long work partly because she is disabled (a stroke 7 yrs ago), and needs assistance (physically), but mostly because I believe strongly (like countless others) that everyone should have the chance to learn music for so many reasons: social, health, discipline, mental health, better performance in school, global communication, and more. My resources are limited (as are so many others) because I’m working solely on this project, which is why I’m responding to your email and this competition. Regardless of the outcome, I’m moving forward with the project.
Good luck to everyone! And my thanks for the opportunity to apply for the scholarship.
My regards,
Lydia Fife
