Thank you for sharing with each of us.
I enjoyed the information that you have just shared.
I have always wanted a web site and was searching
for the best ideas, to set up for my friend music.
He plays the piano beautifully.
I am working on my material also.
appreciate the way you put the video together.
good job. What you share with another to help them
will reap many benefits for you. Sending out good ships and they will return to you. Just as you have
with this video. Keep the information coming. thanks.

Greetings -
So, we’re in agreement that exposure is key.
1) I have an extensive website that I maintain. I also have profiles at about a dozen other sites.
2) I have a mailing list, and email announcements approx. once a week
3) I use social media extensively. follow me on twitter at twiiter.com/naiilmusic.
4) I always plug my websites and mailing list at performances.
5) I have a blog (tho not much time to write, having to write music, rehearse, book shows and maintain a dozen or so websites. Not to mention working to support a family…).
Well?
IT’S NOT WORKING.
Now what?

Hi Kavit, your video is disarmingly simple , basic and covers the essential points regarding use of the internet for the independent musician in a compelling manner. Altho you appear many years younger your wisdom, frankness and charismatic communication skills are transformative . You may quote me . I look forward to more of your videos. Your ideas , altho not new, speak volumes in a wonderful manner and with great clarity. Best, Chairman George , Canada

Nice job on the video. You relayed some internet sites, which may assist in geting people interested in a product (namely songs and music). In your future video(s), perhaps you could explain some web sites for lyric and or song writers only?
Thanks for sharing, and I wish you well.

Very, very good information. Exposure truly is the key. I’d like more info on the web site builders who cater to musicians and also the best ones that get you noticed. Thanks very much.

Really clear message. I’ve heard some of it before, but this made it have a plan to go with. If I only could do more of my own programming instead of waiting on my son! But you didn’t say how to get something that collects names.

Hi Neil,
I agree with you entirely…For a while now (at least 6 months)
1) I have had a website with a squeezebox for email addresses. The website has been there for 7 years…
2) I have been posting all sorts of youtube videos for over a year, rehearsals, photoshoots, backstage, gigs and more http://www.youtube.com/donkeyboxrocks
3) I have a mailing list too albeit only about 100 ppl
4) I use social media extensively, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook Page & Group, Last.fm
5) I plug my website and mailing list at performances. Admittedly not hard enough, I also used to offer a FREE cd in return for a mailing list sign-up
And yeah, it doesen’t really seem to be working for me either!
Although I now have a blog set up too and am becoming more strategic..let’s wait and see…
